Community Open House

“The New York State Department of Transportation will host a community open house (today) Tuesday, April 14, to discuss the New York Gateway Connections improvement project to the U.S. Peace Bridge Plaza in the City of Buffalo.
“The open house will run from 3 until 7:30 p.m. at Madonna Hall at D’Youville College, located at 334 Porter Ave. Department and contractor personnel will be present to answer questions and provide information about the ongoing project.”

In order to refresh yourself for an upcoming public information meeting regarding the Public Bridge Authority’s three year Adaptive Management Landscape Plan, attendees can browse this PDF, which is a visual presentation from the first of three public meetings, held on March 5, 2015. The meeting will include a presentation, Q&A, and open session will detail the ways that landscaping can improve the conditions surrounding the bridge and plaza, including:
- Increase carbon sequestration
- Improve environmental (heat, wind) conditions
- Improve overall aesthetics
- Enhance quality of life in the vicinity of the bridge
The public consultation between the neighborhood and landscape architect consultants Wendel and Dillon Consulting – Tuesday, April 21 from 4:30pm-6pm at the Niagara Branch Library (280 Porter Avenue).
