Big Ditch Brewing Company is expecting to open its tap room in June. Big Ditch is leasing space at 55 E. Huron Street in a building owned by Iskalo Development Corp. Exterior work on the building is nearly complete. The location opened for distribution in mid-October and retail operations began in November.
The tap room will include seating for over 200 people, including a beer hall which can be booked for private events and future space to include mezzanine seating overlooking the bar. There will be three tap towers with 12 taps each, two towers downstairs and one tower upstairs. The food menu will include several appetizers and entrees that both complement the beer and incorporate beer their recipes.
Big Ditch is joining a number of new restaurants in and around the 500 block of Main Street and along the Genesee/Ellicott corridor. It is across the street from Tappo and on the same block as Richard Hamilton’s planned restaurant at 291 Ellicott Street that will feature a rooftop patio and outdoor courtyard. Hamilton’s restaurant will open this summer.
