GreenWorks Buffalo Niagara and The Good Neighborhood are proud to co-host St. Paddy’s Day Green Drinks Friendraiser.
The Green Drinks/Friendraiser is a mash-up of two popular events with a St. Patrick’s Day spin. Envision arriving to The Filling Station and greater Larkinville as the backdrop, coming in to amazing snacks provided by your awesome hosts, you joined the Facebook event page and you won a free drink ticket, now you’re enjoying a fresh local brew, surrounded by Buffalo’s friendly forward thinkers, sharing ideas and discussing projects that are contributing to a better Buffalo. Sounds like a great way to get out for St. Patrick’s Day while still feeling productive!
This good time is for a good cause too. We’re highlighting the newly launched 2nd annual Designing to Live Sustainably D2LS competition. Whether you’re an architect, planner, designer, student, developer, business person, elected official or none-of-the above you can take part in the D2LS competition. Want to tell the world about an idea you have that can make some part of our community cleaner, greener, or smarter? This is your chance. The volunteers with D2LS will be there to share information for entrants interested in submitting proposals.
D2LS is making it possible for entrants to have at least one session with their expert “mentors.” Ideas and design concepts can be pitched to mentors who then offer feedback on how to develop their ideas into a solid submission and implementable project. Submissions will also be seen by our panel of judges including Hal Morse, Pat Whalen, Lynn Marinelli, Lisa Tucker, Eddie Friel, George Besch and Rocco Termini.
