On March 28, 2015, the Mustache March 5K will be held in the Village of Kenmore. Dedicated to the memory of Dominic Hofert, the footrace and walk takes place through the streets of Kenmore Village, with the intention of creating a healthier Buffalo* while raising money for the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (Roswell Park Cancer Institute of Greater Buffalo).
Contestants are asked to either grow a mustache in advance of the race, or simply sport a fake mustache on that day. Awards will be handed out to the top runners, as well as the best real and fake mustaches. There will also be a post race/walk brunch celebration to look forward to.
To learn more about the USATF certified race, the mustache competition, and the brunch, you can visit this website. Once you have your mapped coördinates, you can then register for the event.
You can also keep track of the run/walk on the Kenmore Village Improvement Society’s page on Facebook. Participants will gather at Mang Park (Mang Avenue) at 10am on the morning of the event.
*All of the steps run and walked by participants in the 5K will also be counted towards the Wellness Institute of Greater Buffalo’s 15 Million+ Steps in 2015 – a community physical activity goal.
