People all over the globe are being moved by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Whether blazing through one of her award-winning novels (which have been translated into 30 languages), watching her captivating TEDx talk on why “We Should All Be Feminists,” or dancing unabashedly to Beyoncé’s Grammy Award winning (Adichie-inspired) song “Flawless,” the Nigerian author’s influence is far-reaching.
And now, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is coming to Buffalo for the third installment of Just Buffalo Literary Center’s 2014-2015 BABEL series. Held at Kleinhans Music Hall (3 Symphony Circle, Buffalo) on Thursday, March 26th at 8:00pm, the event will feature a lecture by the author, an audience-generated Q&A, and a book signing.
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is the author of the award-winning novels Purple Hibiscus, Half of a Yellow Sun, and the story collection The Thing Around Your Neck. Adichie’s latest novel, Americanah, which Just Buffalo is encouraging all to read in preparation for her visit, won the National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction, The Chicago Tribune Heartland Prize for Fiction, and was named one of The New York Times Ten Best Books of the Year.
Tickets for the BABEL event may be purchased online at justbuffalo.org, by calling (716) 832-5400, or in person at Just Buffalo’s Market Arcade location (Suite 202A, 617 Main Street, Buffalo). Student Admission is just $10 with student ID.
