It’s been almost two year since Taste of Siam opened on Elmwood Avenue. Since that time, I’ve eaten at the Thai (Thailand) establishment numerous times, and have always found the food to be consistently delicious. I’m also a fan of the interior of the restaurant, with all of the vaulting windows and spacious dining rooms. There’s even a cozy bar in the establishment, which is the perfect place to hang out to get away from the madding crowd, or simply have drink before or after dinner. The only problem is that the Taste of Siam did not have a beer and wine license, until now.
For those who have been waiting for Taste of Siam to get its beer and wine license, that day has finally come. Now customers can order a draught beer, bottled Thai selections, reds and whites, and even cold or hot sake. A few of us stopped in for dinner last night and were pleasantly surprised when owner Bobby Sysomboune told us that he had finally managed to procure the license.
The addition of beer and wine offerings changes the entire dynamic of the restaurant. Now, along with some of the tastiest food in Buffalo, customers can enjoy an alcoholic beverage to wash down myriad victuals. This comes in handy when ordering any meal selection “Thai hot” from Taste of Siam. Some of the hottest dishes that I have ever tried in Buffalo have come from this place (the Pra Ram “Thai hot” is out of this world), and finally there’s the option of sipping a frosty brew to tame the taste buds after their roller coaster ride.
