Once again, The Salvation Army is stitching together a fashion event that highlights the value of reusing clothing to create stylish and current outfits. In an age of uber-consumerism, it is refreshing to see an organization of this nature remind us that what was hot last year (or 20 years ago) can still be considered valuable when considering accessories for today’s trendy styles. The clothing can be recreated, re-styled, transformed and recycled, and then the reused threads can be reintroduced by the designer and the consumer.
The Re-Fashionsita Challenge is coming to Statler City at Niagara Square on Tuesday, March 20, 2015. On that day there will be shopping elements, accessory sales, a live show, and awards. Come see what the designers and models can do with materials sourced second hand from The Salvation Army.
