There’s a new event and performance venue in South Buffalo called The Church, which is essentially the resurrection of the former St. John’s RC Church. Now The Church is home to a different type of worship – one that involves live music, dancing and food and drinks. This is exactly the type of conversion that we need to be seeing at underutilized (and closed) churches, in order to prevent the buildings from becoming piles of rubble (and then parking lots). Currently, The Church is undergoing a complete renovation.
The event is called Caz Tapped, and is indeed the inaugural event to be held in the new venue. Musicians/bands playing at the event include Theresa Quinn, Half a Heard and Sugar Spoon.
Along with the live music, Caz Tapped has invited Amy’s and House of Munch food trucks to attend, along with two breweries – Ellicottville Brewing Company and Hamburg Brewing Company. Guests can also try out wines from Ten Thousand Vines, and hard cider from McKenzie’s.
This is just the first of many awesome events that will be held at The Church, located at 2325 Seneca Street.
You can follow the Caz Tapped Facebook group page (see here), or check out the group’s event (see here). The event takes place on February 21, 2015. Music starts at 6pm.
Also look for Buffalo Adore table at the event (see more).
Admission is $5, beer & food tickets available inside the venue, and plenty of free parking. If you don’t want to drive, a shuttle will take you from Buffalo Street Grill (61 Buffalo Street,
Hamburg) to The Church every hour. $15 gets you a round-trip shuttle ticket plus admission.
