Movoto.com has come up with a revered list of the many things that Buffalo a unique place to live. Things that an out-of-towner might not know upon visiting this city.
The list has a couple of notable occurrences that I was excited to see referenced as “not to be missed”, including the relativey new, but oh so loved, Porchfest.
The list also appears to be a bit dated already, as the Powder Keg Festival is listed as a crowd favorite, although the event appears to be in standby mode (but don’t worry because the Madd Tiki Winter Luau is coming on February 28 – see here).
I was also glad to see the “embracing of winter” on the list, because even though we’ve had a lot of snow the last few days, I still think that this winter has been beautiful, not very cold, and I’ve absolutely enjoyed it! If you know how to dress and you enjoy activities such as snowboarding and skating, winter in Buffalo is a great season.
The Lafayette Square live music reference made me scratch my head… not sure where they were going with that one, but it’s a fun photo regardless.
It’s easy to tell that websites like Movoto crank out these types of lists, to attract hits to their sites. Regardless, it’s always interesting reading some of the responses from commentors at the end. Especially when the list is chock full of erroneous errors (see the post here).
