One of the city’s most fun-loving winter running races is back, and this year it’s going to serve as the kick-off to the Madd Tiki Winter Luau Festival, scheduled to be held at RiverWorks on Saturday February 28, 2015. The race is part run and part party, orchestrated by the same race coordinator who first launched the event in conjunction with the Flurrious! festival three years ago. When the director heard a winter festival was back on track, to be held at RiverWorks, a fire was lit and plans to design a course around Kelly Island ensued.
In the spirit of the festival, runners are invited to wear tiki-inspired beach attire during the USATF Sanctioned run. Once the race is complete, participants will gather back at RiverWorks to take part in the commencement of the rest of the days festivities.
Runners interested in joining in on the fun can click here to learn more about The Ice Man, and register at the same time. The route is also published on The Ice Man website.
