Between artist Tara Sasiadek’s multimedia, dream-laden works and artist Sean Madden macabre subject matter, visitors to the upcoming Hi Temp Fabrication collaborative show are in for a phantasmagorical awakening. The show is a look into the minds (the dreams and visions) of two prolific artists with big Buffalo ties, who continue to push the envelope for strange and ethereal subject matter.
“Dreams present an opaque but vibrant guide to our inner lives, but they also contain the flotsam and jetsam of the brain’s nightly scrubbing of millions of sensory details. In that deep clean, we are trying to tell ourselves something. Listening is a process in turns exhilarating, terrifying, and humorous,” said Sasiadek of her work. “For this new body of work, I am using only unconscious imagery. Everything in dreams is intensified and uncanny, so this has produced an entirely new art-making process for me.”
Both Sasiadek and Madden will be using the most of the Hi Temp space, by creating a multimedia installation intended on enveloping visitors into “a visual playground where the psyche meets itself and works through the ephemera of everyday life, from the traumatic to the stunning to the mundane.”
This will be the first Buffalo venue to showcase Madden’s newest unfettered artistic creations, that represent a different bent for the artist who was once unsuccessfully censored for his work. After being vindicated, the artist’s direction has taken on a more uplifting spin, that speaks to a victory that only Madden can truly know. To think that these new works are considered uplifting speaks to the truly dark works that Madden currently has left behind.
Madden and Sasiadek fans will rejoice in viewing the works that comprise this collective show .
