On Saturday, February 7th, 2015, Buffalo’s 43 North incubator will be hosting an all day (12 hour), all-email hackathon. The event will combine web developers and markets, in a session aimed at coming up with solutions and websites for a number of area business.
“At Girl Develop It we know that an outstanding web presence can have a great impact to business. It is important to us that our Hackathon not only help our members hone their skills, but also helped local non-profits or small businesses succeed. It’s a win-win,” said Lena Levine, Founder of Girl Develop It Buffalo.
Girl Develop it is a nonprofit organization that gives women the tools that they need to succeed in the web development industry. The organization empowers the girls to follow their passions, while helping others along the way.
“43North’s incubator is designed to be a collaborative space where new ideas flourish and the work of Buffalo’s community of innovators is amplified,” said Peter Burakowski, 43North Senior Marketing Manager. “We are proud to host Girl Develop It’s All-Female Hackathon on Feb. 7.”
IIAB (International Institute of Business Analysts) will help to choose the area businesses that will benefit from the competition. These businesses will be provided with a website overhaul by the teams during the 12-hour stint.
At this point, Girl Develop It is looking for participants, sponsors and volunteers to make the event the best that it can be. For more information about the event, visit www.gdihacks.com.
