Hertel is hot. At least in the rumor department! Fresh off the talk of the Lexington Co-Op opening a second location on the street comes word that Lloyd Taco Truck is opening a brick and mortar location at 1503 Hertel Avenue. The pioneering local food truck has been a runaway success since hitting the streets in 2010.
From their Facebook description:
We are the first taco truck to serve the great city of Buffalo, NY. Our mission is to bring legitimate street food to Buffalo by offering affordable yet incredibly tasty takes on tacos, burritos, nachos and more.
Lloyd has been looking for a permanent location and is scheduled to appear on the upcoming season of CNBC’s Restaurant Startup show. From The Buffalo News:
The popular Lloyd Taco Truck of Buffalo has been chosen as one of 20 “culinary entrepreneurs” that will compete for an investment in the second season of CNBC’s “Restaurant Startup.”
The season of 10 one-hour episodes premieres at 10 p.m. Tuesday, Jan.13.
Lloyd, owned by Chris Dorsaneo and Peter Cimino, became Buffalo’s first food truck four years ago and has become one of the city’s most successful mobile operations.
According to a CNBC release, restaurateur and TV personality Joe Bastianich vies with chef and restaurateur Tim Love “to invest their own money in restaurant concepts they believe could make them millions.”
Spoiler Alert?
