If you are still looking for something to do this evening, Opera Scara will be performing at St. Joseph University Church, 3269 Main Street, adjacent to the UB South Campus (Saturday November 22, 2014). It’s an incredible opportunity to see Greater Buffalo’s oldest continually producing opera company, founded by Reverend Jacob Ledwon in 1975.
The production marks the opening of the opera company’s 40th season. Opera lovers will be treated to a fully-staged production of Francis Poulenc’s 1956 Dialogues of the Carmelites (7:30pm). The production has not been performed in Buffalo in over 35 years.
Father Jacob Ledwon, founding artistic director of the company says “I can think of no better way to celebrate the forty years of OPERA SACRA’s artistic achievements then going back to the beginning and presenting this unique piece again. It should be a thrilling performance.”
