With all of the incredible news regarding the resurgence of the Buffalo brewery scene, one BRO reader felt that we would be interested to see this Buffalo Courier article dated on January, 12, 1913.
I’m sure that we are all quite aware of this city’s illustrious brewing history, but since prohibition the brewing industry has been stymied (almost squashed out of existence) to say the least.
An article of this nature is a reminder that, as with so many other markets, Buffalo was a leader when it came to brewing. We see traces of the industry everywhere.
But to think that Buffalo hit the mark as the 2nd Greatest Brewing city, cranking out more than 1,000,000 barrels of beer years. Well, that kind of puts it into perspective.
The paper also warns of the disastrous effects of prohibition (click article to enlarge).
