The Jefferson Avenue Shul at 407 Jefferson on the East Side of Buffalo will soon be gone. No more falling bricks, no more delinquent owner, no more code violations for the city department of buildings to ignore. The building will be gone as will any connection to the many generations who passed through its doors for more than 100 years. Congratulations Buffalo, you are now one step closer to being nothing special.
Here are some images from this special day in Buffalo. They tell us demolition reduces crime! Yea!! This is the dysfunctional thinking that local leadership comes up with year after year. Then again, this $80,000 spent on this demolition could have fixed the roof instead. Or better yet, enforce the code.
