Cross in The Park is an event that you would think would be more suited to Ellicottville, with the ski hills and the wooded lands. Surprisingly, Delaware Park is also perfectly suited for such an event, as you can see when viewing the following Cross in The Park video from 2013.
On Sunday November 2, 2014, you are invited to come out and cheer on these cyclocross participants, as they chew up the course on their bikes. It all starts at the stone bridge in Delaware Park, with a course that consists of rolling terrain, natural obstacles, grass, mud, stairs and trees. There are incredible vantage points to look onto the races too.
Since 2010, cycling advocates have been preparing the course, and promoting it to those who can appreciate challenging trails, mud, and a little blood, sweat and tears.
Each week cyclocross racers practice in Delaware Park, gearing up for the big day which is almost upon us. Cyclists, young and old, riding a variety of bikes, show up to compete, win prizes, cheer on their friends, and celebrate at the finish line.
Cross in the Park is a cyclocross race organized by Campus WheelWorks. You can learn more about the race at www.campuswheelworks.com/cx.
