The development team behind the 500 Seneca Street project has been working with the City of Buffalo and nearby property owners on a creative way to implement a Seneca Street streetscape project.
Property taxes generated by 500 Seneca will be utilized by the City to fund improvements along Seneca Street between Coca-Cola Field in the central business district – through and around 500 Seneca Street – connecting to the street improvements currently being completed on Seneca Street in the Larkin District. A stretch of Swan Street in front of The Hub project will also be included.
Improvements will include traffic calming measures, street parking, two bike lanes, new sidewalks, benches and trees, period style street lamps, interpretive/wayfaring signage, and pedestrian crosswalks.
The Seneca Street Greenway Connector is designed to enhance the aesthetic environment for existing homeowners and businesses, and to improve the travel experience for vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian traffic.
“This work will really tie in and link Larkinville to downtown,” says Samuel J. Savarino, President and Chief Executive Officer of Savarino Companies.
