Conventus is getting skinned. With structural framing complete, construction crews are now installing the façade on Ciminelli Real Estate Corporation’s Conventus project on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. The 350,000 square foot, seven-story building at Main and High streets scheduled to be completed in Spring 2015. The tower crane on the site is expected to be removed next week.
Positioned as the Northern Gateway to the medical campus, the building will be physically connected via enclosed walkways to the new John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital, the new University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Bioinformatics, and the University at Buffalo Research Institute on Addictions. Conventus will be home to multiple tenants including Kaleida Health and UBMD.
New York State is locating a biomedical research facility on the building’s seventh floor. The research center will be anchored by Albany Molecular Research, Inc. (AMRI), a global contract research and manufacturing organization offering customers fully integrated drug discovery, development, and manufacturing services.
There is approximately 90,000 sq.ft. of space on the building’s fifth and sixth floors remaining for lease. First Niagara Bank has agreed to locate a branch on the building’s first floor. The balance of the ground floor space will be a mix of retail and restaurant tenants. Two levels of parking are located beneath the building.
Kideney Architects designed the building and LPCiminelli is general contractor.
