Now that Buffalo is becoming synonymous with “beer” once again, Buffalo Beer Week is taking on a whole new meaning.
Each year, as new breweries, festivals, beer gardens, craft beer pubs and home brewing events enter the scene, more Buffalonians are tuning their taste buds into the wide varieties of beer that are available on a local level. That means that 2014 is going to be an especially good year for Buffalo Beer Week. The 10+ day brew celebration is brought to Greater Buffalo by Buffalo Niagara Brewers Association.
“One thing is clear,” said Willard Brooks, co-organizer of Buffalo Beer Week. “That Buffalo loves beer and for that reason Buffalo Beer Week celebrates Buffalo! Our beer week highlights our once great brewing industry that is in the process of becoming great once again. That greatness celebrates craft beer from all over the world right here in our neighborhood pubs. But more than anything, Buffalo Beer Week celebrates the rebirth of our own Buffalo Niagara brewing heritage, esp. as we approach the mark of 20 local breweries.”
