This summer The Greater Allentown Gallery Association (GAGA) will, once again, be hosting the First Fridays Gallery Tours. The season starts this Friday with an Artisan Craft Fair taking place at the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site. It’s an annual celebration of the start of the prime gallery season, and a great way for fans of artists and artisans to immerse themselves into the cultural scene that is unfolding all around us. The gallery tours get underway with a live performance of the Canal Street Band at 5:30pm (641 Delaware Avenue).
Friday June 6 continues with Allen Street being closed to traffic from Franklin to Virginia Place. Instead of car traffic, visitors will be greeted with artists and artisans, more live music from Folkfaces at 6:30PM, live demonstrations by UltraHoops, and tasty treats provide by the Sweet Hearth Food Truck. Expect shops and restaurants to be open late, and artisans and artists to be set up on the street.
Keep up with the Allentown First Fridays Gallery Tours each month by visiting their website, www.firstfridaysallentown.com or via the #FirstFridays on Twitter.
