The Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU) is in town this week for their CNU22 conference. Much of the convention is closed to the public but a few events are free of charge and open to all. One such event, sponsored by the CNU NextGen group, titled “City of Tomorrow: An Urban Revival” promises to be a lot of fun.
“City of Tomorrow” will be held at the cluster of concrete grain silos on the Buffalo River known as Silo City. You can get there by following Ohio Street until you get to the river. The event will feature speakers; Andres Duany, founder of the CNU; Sjoerd Soeter, a well-known visionary in urban design; and Keith Harrington, an AV artist. There will also be music, food trucks, FLying Bison Beer, and grain elevator tours. The organizers recommend bringing a chair with you.
