The Urban Land Institute Western New York is hosting an event to look at the multiple perspectives of community revitalization on the West Side of Buffalo; in addition to the personal story of Louise Sano, a Rwandan immigrant and business owner, on Wednesday, May 28 from 5 until 8 PM.
The West Side of Buffalo is experiencing a wave of community revitalization spurred by the collaborative efforts of numerous residents, business owners, not-for-profit organizations, social service agencies and community members. This program highlights these local efforts within a broader context of economic development, affordable housing and challenges facing immigrants and refugees.
Attendees will hear community leaders and experts speak about The West Side Sustainable Community Plan, local small business development and retention efforts, overcoming language and cultural barriers, and access to affordable housing.

Both the public and private sectors are invited to attend. The program includes dinner from the international food bazaar.
