The big day has finally arrived! Several years in the making, New Buffalo Brewing Company is set to launch their first beer this week (see history).
The longtime dream of founder Bill Campbell rolls out this week in the form of a brew called Big Fish Bitters – an English style Pale Ale that uses all American grown Fuggle hops. Campbell was inspired to start his own brewery after his friends encouraged him to purchase a home brewing kit. Once he began to create his own beers he was hooked. His passion quickly grew and his desire to help put Buffalo back on the beer map is about to become a reality. With the launch of Big Fish Bitters, Campbell wants to change the face of the local beer scene… one beer at a time.
According to Bill the brewery plans on producing two year round beers to start off with – Big Fish Bitters and a Brown Ale (aptly named Saloon Boss Brown) which they intend to release in six to eight weeks.
Pending state and federal approval, the brewing team will also be adding four rotating seasonals into the mix, including an American Wheat Ale made with honeydew mash. Other beers will pay homage to the city’s Blue Collar and Rust Belt roots.
New Buffalo Brewery looks forward to becoming an integral part of the emerging beer culture scene which has taken hold in WNY over the last couple of years. The team at New Buffalo wants to win the loyalty of the hardworking citizens of the Queen City by offering them finely crafted beers that don’t cut corners. Be on the lookout for their art deco style taps and old timey beer bottles at local watering holes all over the city.
