Ryu-Kon 2014 is on its way to Buffalo this summer. The group, known for promoting creativity and imagination, will be embarking upon a weekend full of panels, workshops, events, screenings, entertainment, with celebrity guests, shopping and unique activities. For anyone who is looking for creative inspiration, Ryu-Kon aims to be an inspirational glimpse into the lives of those who embrace their imaginations in order to live full and happy lives. Other than the standard themes based on creative careers and creative health, the convention also highlights anime, gaming, steampunk and horror themed activities (with a heavy concentration on anime, Japanese pop culture and gaming).
Featured at this summer’s Ryu-Kon is the MEGA Games Room where gamers will be able to play life-size versions of their favorite games. Then there’s the Minecraft Fantasy Land where players actually become part of the game. And when visitors get hungry, they look no further than Ryuko’s Anime Maid Café, where real life anime characters are eager to serve them (just like in anime movies). There’s also a Steampunk Archeological Dig Site, a Healthy Shinagans Room, actors, authors, entertainers, celebrities and information on career opportunities. The Ryu-Kon Convention is fun for the entire family…
