The buyer of the Immaculate Conception Church at Edward and S. Elmwood Avenue is planning at least six apartments for the property. Wayne Bacon’s 144 Edward LLC purchased the charming 6,800 building last Monday from Plaza One Group for $295,000.
Bacon provides the details in a comment on the earlier post:
We will be converting the rectory into 6 or more apartments and one office. There are approximately six parking spaces available on site. We are thrilled to have made this acquisition, and intend to preserve and restore the historical integrity of this beautiful building. The Rectory has generous common spaces, including a grand staircase that rises up three floors from its substantial foyer. The Lincoln Parkway church is the former Plymouth United Church of Christ. The City approved the conversion project by Bacon and Dan Saunders last year. Bacon and Saunders are also teaming up to convert the former American Locker Group buildings on Martha Street in Ellicottville to furnished apartments and are said to be eyeing other conversion candidates in Buffalo.
