Failures’ Union, a four piece alternative rock band, will be performing at their album release show this evening, Tuesday, April 8 at Broadway Joe’s as the last Buffalo performance before they leave for a European tour.
Their latest LP, Tethering, has been recorded with a little more time and care than their previous albums.
“This is the first record that we wrote and recorded as a four piece. We also spent a lot more time on it. As a result of both things it’s more thought out and breezier than the other records,” said Jason Draper, Bass.
After the album release show they have a 16 date tour lined up across Europe with Bedford Falls.
Born in 2004 in a Mohawk Place practice room the band is also celebrates it’s ten year anniversary this year. Although I’m sure everyone asks, I really did HAVE to ask how the closing of its home base has affected Failure’s Union.
The band, which describes itself as an amalgamation of the music they grew up listening to as teenagers in the 90’s, has only played 4 local shows since the closing of the Mohawk Place in early 2013.
“There are a handful of decent venues in Buffalo now, but they are all either too big or expensive, too small, or have a negative stigma about them. Something new needs to open up to fill a very specific need of the city,” he said.
Also featured in the show is Iron Chic and Broadcaster, from Long island, and it is also the Mapmaker, Buffalo indy pop-punk album release show. The $6 show is at 7 p.m. See Facebook event. Also see the band’s Facebook page.
