A submarine sandwich chain from Eau Claire, WI is opening up on Elmwood Avenue in the former Europa space (Europa is moving to Connecticut Street).
Erbert & Gerbert’s started over 20 years ago and is now becoming a cult national phenomenon with 50 shops open thus far. Many who have tried the subs state that it’s only a matter of time before the franchise begins to win over longtime Subway fans.
The company prides itself on flavor, along with boasting a ton of fun names for its sandwich creations… like Narmer, Bornk, and Girf. To me, the sub shop sounds like the equivalent of a Ben & Jerry’s type of operation, but dedicated to the making of subs of course. Can’t wait to try one out.
