Two weeks after selling the former Immaculate Conception church, Plaza One Group closed on a deal for the adjacent rectory. Newly-formed 144 Edward Street LLC purchased the 6,800 sq.ft. rectory yesterday for its asking price: $295,000.
144 Edward Street LLC is registered with the State with a Depew mailing address. Neighborhood sources say the buyer is planning to convert the building to apartments, has a project in the works in Ellicottville, and is looking for other redevelopment opportunities in the Buffalo.
Architect and artist Dennis Maher purchased the church at 150 Edward for $35,000 earlier this month. Maher plans to convert the church into Assembly House 150, a “living laboratory for artistic and architectural experimentation.”
