Local foodies can finally rejoice, BreadHive is welcoming the public in to its West Side facility.
BreadHive Cooperative Bakery will hold their grand opening celebration Saturday, this evening, April 12 for all those interested in getting an up close and personal look at how the city’s latest bakery runs.
There will be breads, bagels and granola paired for tastings with different spreads and dips courtesy of the Lexington Co-op as well as tours for those who get there early.
Last week loaves of their West Side Sourdough bread and Cinnamon Raisin Swirl began popping up for sale locally at Guercio’s & Sons, Lexington Co-op and Snyder’s Farmers & Artisans.
For those interested in regularly eating BreadHive products, bread subscriptions start at $20 a month for one loaf a week. The above mentioned retail stores and the bread subscriptions are currently the only ways to get their bread, as there is no walk-up store front at the BreadHive bakery.
The bread subscription, known as The Crust Belt, can be picked up every Tuesday at 123 Baynes Street between the noon and 6 p.m. and comes in auto renewable monthly memberships or yearly.
Tours of the bakery start at 5 p.m. and an announcement will happen at 6:30 p.m. At 8 p.m. DJ Jerome will spin beats until the party stops.
For those who wish they could make it but can’t Buffalo Rising’s Brett DeNeve will be there to cover all of the evening’s delicious details.
