Where would we be without volunteers? There are so many people who give time to help others in need, thanks to a selfless nature that makes certain individuals stand out in a crowd. This year Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County (BBBSEC) is setting out to honor certain individuals who have made a mark in our community.
On Thursday, April 10, 2014 BBBSEC is hosting the inaugural Women Who Move the City – an event that pays tribute to five women who have contributed to various organizations in ways that warrant public recognition.
“As a volunteer-driven organization, we recognize that the majority of our volunteers are Big Sisters,” said Thomas J. Guagliardo, Chief Executive Officer for BBBSEC. “Women are doing remarkable things for the children in our one-to-one mentoring programs and also volunteering and providing financial support to other worthy causes in our community. This event is a way to say thank you for their dedication and passion for making a difference.”
The 2014 Women Who Move the City awardees to be recognized at the April 10th event are:
Mary Lynn Barnhard – Wheels with Wings Foundation
