This week workers uncovered a buried time capsule as they were digging up part of the 500-block of Main Street. While the contents of the capsule are not yet know, the box has been delivered to City Hall in order to examine the innards. It was contractor Mark Cerrone’s team that first unearthed the find. Apparently the contents were extremely fragile, which meant that it was tough to visibly see any sort of markings or date inside. The discovery was uncovered when workers moved “The Hiker” sculpture off of its base at Roosevelt Plaza to relocate it while they finish the sidewalks.
Since the contents of the time capsule are not yet known, we’re asking BRO readers if they can venture a guess as to what is inside the box. If it was buried around the same time that the Metro Rail project was added to Main Street, or Roosevelt Plaza, then that might give us an approximate date to go by. Or whenever ‘The Hiker” was added after that. So what’s your guess?
