Worlds away, yet still found right on the city’s West Side, the West Side Bazaar invites you to meet the Women of the World this Saturday as part of International Women’s Day.
The celebration, held on March 8, 2014 between 11am-2pm will feature the women that make the bazaar so incredibly unique and special, despite much of the economic, political and social diversity that they have overcome. Seeing that the majority of operators at the bazaar are women, it was only proper to pay tribute to these heroes who hail from Ethiopia, Burma, India, South Sudan, Rwanda, Lao, Peru and Nepal.
From 11-2, any woman who comes into the Bazaar will receive coupons and discounts on all goods, food samples, and free henna tattoos done by Mehandi Mahal (see Facebook). There will also be homemade gifts upon arrival!
At 12:00 PM, the bazaar will have special guest Gaitrie Devi doing a Bollywood performance and demonstration. Gaitrie is a dance instructor and choreographer from “Devi Bollywood Dance.” See Facebook
