Are you a Buffalo artist? If so, how do people find you? Are you on Facebook? Do people search for you on the web? If so, how do they know what to search for? Think of the thousands of people that you want to connect with that you just can’t, for a number of reasons. Marketing is a tough business, and there are no guarantees. Advertising can be expensive… the list of obstructions goes on.
What if there was a local website where artists could join and share their profiles with other artists and the public? Now there is just such as website, and it’s called, simply, BuffaloArtist.com. “Over the past few months, co-founder Bryan Hart and I have been making an extension of the Buffalo Custom Art (BCA) website where artists/musicians can connect with each other and promote their materials to art and music supporters,” said Amanda Hart.
In order to get the ball rolling, Amanda and Bryan have been busy partnering with another artistic brand in Buffalo called Faust Promotion (see FB), which is positioned to help brand and promote the BuffaloArtist.com initiative by offering affordable creative work. “Faust Promotion is a sister company to Buffalo Custom Art,” Amanda told me. “The idea came together in order to create an affordable plan for musicians and artists alike. We would like to offer little to no cost, promotional artwork and low cost websites for ‘up and coming’ musicians in WNY [all tied in with the BuffaloArtist.com mission].
“Over the past few months I have been working on numerous commissions and projects for mainstream bands including Future Leaders of the world , which has been spotted on MTV and The Grammys – Amiir King featuring Phil Taylor touring with Juicy J, Full Devil Jacket, Rorschach Test and many more! Which then got me thinking, if big bands struggle, or appreciate the help with getting the word out about their music and the need for artists, I’m 100% positive that struggling musicians need the same type of help and support. When we partnered with Faust Promotions we made the collective decision that we will do what we can to see WNY’s music and art scene thrive. Which is why we have volunteered to offer our services to fellow musicians and artists by providing a place to post music and art, connect with venues and fans.
“As we continue to grow and thrive by serving our artistic and music community to the best of our abilities, we are also working hand and hand with groups such as the University Heights Art Association. This year is going to be very eventful, from new murals (on restaurants) being put up, concerts, kids programs and that’s just the start!”
Keep an eye out for Amanda and Ryan as they continue to spearhead art-based initiatives both on-line (artist database) and in the real world (mural creations). If you’re a local artist, looking to network on an online start-up page dedicated to creative types, then be sure to establish a bio on BuffaloArtist.com.
