As spring heads our way, slowly but surely, event planning at Larkinville is already heating up. The district has already created a series of events that coincide with different days of the week – most notably Food Truck Tuesdays and Live at Larkin Wednesdays. Now Leslie Zemsky, Larkin Square Director of Fun, has announced that Thursdays will be dedicated to a brand new concept that will turn the square into a lively public market. The Larkin Market will run Thursdays from 4pm to 7pm beginning July 10 and running to September 18, 2014.
“We will no longer have the Market open on Wednesdays; instead, the focus will be on creating a destination urban market with vendors selling fresh food and produce, prepared foods, art, crafts, jewelry, vintage goods and other unique items for sale,” Leslie stated in a recent email. “The focus will be on hand-made, designed and locally produced goods. Community groups will also have a presence at the market. We will expand the areas to sell to include our market stalls, the boardwalk and tents. Think of it as Social Shopping! We plan to make this “Larkin Square Special” with the addition of live music. As always, we will provide security, a fun welcoming environment and guests may also enjoy a glass of beer, wine or other refreshment while shopping at The Larkin Market.”
