Yesterday a local business/building owner who has plenty of space and capital to put behind a project reached out to me to ask what I felt the city/downtown Buffalo needed. He/she was wondering if there were any concepts gaining traction in other cities that Buffalo should be looking at – mainly geared towards adults (though it would be good to hear any and all ideas). The team that approached me has the ways and means of pulling off just about anything as long as it’s got a proven track record to attract people and to liven up a district.
The request was perfectly timed, because at the close of each year we ask BRO readers what they would like to see take hold in the year to come. If you have any suggestions for business models that are working in other cities, these guys/gals are all ears. They have a building in mind and its got 50′ ceilings and close to 10,000 sq.’ of space to work with. There are plenty of restaurants and bars in Buffalo, so think more along the lines of activity destinations – this group would like to bring something unique to the city. So, what does Buffalo need next?
