Buffalo director Chris Kelly has released a video featuring P-Town artist Billy Hough (Scream Along with Billy and the GarageDogs) that features local Buffalo music celebs and actors alongside Pulitzer prize winning author Michael Cunningham. This is an outrageous romp that showcases just how far Kelly has come with his director abilities mostly seen in Buffalo’s theater scene. Called ‘Touralouralay’, the video is from Billy Hough and The X-Loves’ album Venice, shot in Provincetown, MA and Buffalo, NY on iPhone 4S and 5.
Buffalonians of note, featured in the video are Joe Donohue, singer/songwriter of the acclaimed rock band The Albrights (which Kelly manages), award winning actor and drag artist Jimmy Janowski, The Stripteasers Jamie Doktor and The Albrights co-frontman Brandon Barry.
*The album maintains a perfect rating on iTunes, and has been called: “Brave” – John Waters, “Funny and gorgeous”–Danny Fields, “Perfect” – Frontiers LA, and “Mesmerizing” – The New Yorker.
Non-Buffalonians also on the vide are: Violent Femmes Gordon Gano (violin and backing vocals), and in person, Pulitzer winning author Michael Cunningham and Susan Goldberg.
Venice is available from GDRecords on iTunes, and at Marc Jacobs stores worldwide.
