This morning there was a light dusting of snow on the ground. That means that we should be thinking about the various winter activities that will be coming out way soon enough. One sport that more Buffalonians should consider participating in is cross-country skiing. Whether you’re out skiing solo, or with a group, this recreational sport is a great workout and a lot of fun. Plus, it gets you out into nature, checking out all of the scenery in our parks and woods.
If you’ve been thinking about getting into the pastime, then you should be aware of the Buffalo Nordic Ski Club. The club has a meet-up scheduled for December 11, 2013 from 7:30 to 10pm at Daemen College where you can learn about weekly tours, monthly meetings, free lessons, and several weekend trips and citizens races.
Once the snow is on the ground (3-4″ of the white stuff), club members meet at 10am on Sunday mornings at the Lincoln Statue in front of the Rose Garden in Delaware Park. This is the perfect chance to meet new people who are also fans of being outdoors and participating in group outings.
