I hope that you’re gearing up for the fourth annual Cross In The Park cyclocross event, coming up in early November. This is the bike race that basically turns Delaware Park into a winding and twisting, hairy trail of mud, blood, sweat and tears of joy (see Facebook event). Cyclocross is as much of a spectator sport as it is a participatory race. Either way you look at it – from the seat of a bike or standing at a bank turn – the blood gets pumping and the exhilaration mounts as the racers draw close.
Honestly, there is no event quite like this intense cyclocross race held in Delaware Park. Bring your cowbells, jump the barriers, check out the bikes, listen to the DJ, help out with the heckling, enjoy the racing, witness The Dueling Death Spirals… with pro scoring, pro neutral support, hand ups, hand downs, hand crafted trophies, Spirit Pony, Zombie Barbie, and plenty of bike merchandise to check out during a five hour race day! There’s even a kids’ bike race for the young go-getters. It’s a family event enjoyed by all ages.
