Want to get up close and personal with the Buffalo art scene? I’m not talking about walking around and looking at art (something that is also fun), I’m talking about checking out a series of videos shot by local filmmakers, revolving around the nature of the public art revolution that we are seeing in the city (lead image: Johny Chow – ASSA Collective and bassist with Cavalera Conspiracy).
On November 1, 2013, join fellow public art enthusiasts during Allentown’s First Fridays open galleries event for an in-depth look into the artists behind the movement and the forward thinkers who are rallying behind them.
-“Streets of Art,” a new film by Nate Peracciny, documents the launch of the Allen Street Street Art Collective, a public arts project in the Allentown District of Buffalo curated by businessman and historian Mark Goldman
-The debut of “ArtBFLO” by John Paget and Visit Buffalo Niagara (VBN), which follows the paths of three Buffalo artists as they prepare to exhibit at galleries throughout Buffalo
-“Buffalo For Real: First Fridays in Allentown” by Paget and VBN, which takes the viewer gallery-hopping through one of Allentown’s monthly First Fridays celebrations
