If there’s one street in Buffalo that could use some TLC at this point in time, it’s Seneca Street. That’s because Seneca is a connector between rapidly growing Larkinville and the Central Business District. Anyone who has ever taken this direct route to and from Larkinville knows that there is a great opportunity to rethink the street as a “Greenway Connector” incorporating landscaping, lighting, sidewalk repair, and revised road striping. But those are just the necessities. Seneca Street always struck me as the perfect place for street art, especially since the rebirth of the funky district that sits at the “end of the line”.
What will this connection look like in years to come? Just like Ohio Street, we have a chance to make a huge changes when it comes to reinventing the crucial routes that we take… routes that might just become vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian destinations themselves one day depending on the final results of the public process.
What: Seneca Street property owners will host an informal meeting to discuss preliminary plans for the creation of a “Greenway Connector” along Seneca St. between Larkinville and the Central Business District.
