It’s hard to imagine that the Elmwood Avenue Festival of the Arts (EAFA) has been going on for so many years. It seems like it was just yesterday when the festival was formed. The idea was was hatched in order to give more opportunities to local artists, while being inclusionary for small businesses along Elmwood Avenue. Over the years, there have been lots of green and kids elements added to EAFA, along with a diverse mix of performance-based arts.
Today the festival boasts over 170 artists and craftspeople who showcase their works in 16 different mediums. There are over 50 performances on three stages, along with a dance tent, Kidsfest with a parade, an Environmental Row (with composting added to the mix this year), Cultural Row featuring over 30 local organizations, and a festival café. That’s a lot to take in over the course of one weekend, but we’ve done it before and we’re going to do it again… and again… and again.
