In celebration of The Garden Walk, a few of the city’s local landmarks are lighting up with the color of green. From July 26-July 28, the Peace Bridge (Opened to the public on June 1, 1927), the Electric Tower (patterned after the Tower of Light from the 1901 Pan American Exposition), and M&T Bank (designed by Minoru Yamasaki) will all flip the green switch and collectively broadcast the event Garden Walk Buffalo, which is the largest garden tour in the United States.
“Once, the city of Buffalo was considered the grungy rust belt of America. Now, a community of avid, amateur gardeners is transforming it into what Martha Stewart Living suggests might become the epicenter of American Horticulture.” – The Garden Guru
