Tour de Farms is coming up once again – a tour that gives cyclists and farm-to-table fans a chance to bike to farms and gardens in Buffalo and beyond. The 35-mile trip starts on the city’s West Side, with visits to urban farms and gardens before winding up at Bipperts Farm and ending at the Oles Family Farm in Alden, NY.
The tour showcases the growing movement of people who believe that there is power in planting local food sources. By using sustainable transportation to interact with these farms and gardens, GO Bike Buffalo and Massachusetts Avenue Project (MAP) hope to open people’s eyes to our valuable growing resources.
It’s time, once again, to tune up the bike and tune into a healthy and sustainable future.
Join over 300 cyclists in this Local Food Celebration and farm tour, scheduled to take place on September 14, 2013. Riders are provided transportation back to Buffalo after the journey is over.
