Don’t forget to save the
date for the second annual Preservation Plus Conference hosted by Preservation
Buffalo Niagara. The conference takes place from September 27th to
the 29th at Buffalo Seminary, which was recently listed on the
National Register of Historic Places. The stately building will provide a great
setting for this year’s conference, which takes inspiration from the National Trust
for Historic Preservation’s conference.
Last year, the conference
was a great success with 40 education and field sessions for over 150
attendees. Preservation Buffalo Niagara is currently seeking proposals for
workshops, demonstrations, field trips, tours, and education sessions. The
request for session proposals is now open and applications can be filled on this submission form
Preservation
Plus will consist of field and education
sessions that highlight local historic assets, successful renovation projects,
as well as local programs, activities and trends that are directly related to
preserving and restoring our region’s historic built environment. Session
proposal topics are encouraged to be focused on at least one of the following
themes: Historic Preservation, Urban Planning, Sustainability and/or Community
Revitalization.
