Starting on Wednesday April 10, there will be a free live jazz music series kicking off at the Pan American Grill and Brewery inside The Hotel @ The Lafayette. Each Wednesday, for the foreseeable future, the establishment will dedicate its Wednesday post work happy hour (from 6-9pm) to some of the best live jazz performance from the region and beyond. The Pan Am has a built-in stage area, and with the help of sound and lighting guru, Elias Benavides, the venue will once again come to life with the sounds of sweet jazz.
This Wednesday the Pan Am will feature the sounds of grüvology. The show starts early, so stick around after work, grab some food and a couple of beers and sit back and relax to the chill sounds of Buffalo’s “gruviest” jazz groups. “We’re going to be featuring musicians that are looking for an opportunity to play in a beautiful and historic building,” said Elias. “A place where they can create good energy and positivity. We want to contribute towards bringing back the sounds of live jazz to Downtown Buffalo. There was once a great jazz scene here, and we want to pay tribute to those who came before us. We also want to recognize the great music that was once heard at The Tap Room – it’s time to bring live music back to the building, and we’re going to do everything that we can to make sure that the vibe, through sound and lighting, is top notch. Pan Am has graciously allowed us to reintroduce live music to a dream setting, and we’re pulling all stops in order to produce a free series. We are banking that there is a contingent of jazz-lovers in Buffalo that is interested in supporting the initiative and the players, by coming down to listen to these free stellar performances.”
grüvology has become synonymous with great Buffalo jazz. These musicians have been playing their hearts out in myriad venues throughout the city, and Pan Am is proud to have them launch this weekly spectacular jazz series – every Wednesday from 6-9pm.
On Wednesday April 17th Winelight will take the stage. More on that quintet coming soon, as this jazz series gets into full swing. Don’t miss it.
