On Thursday morning at the Head Start location on Main Street, Univera Healthcare President Art Wingerter presented a check for $53,880 to Bethel Head Start, Inc. to support the development and implementation of a preschool fitness and nutrition curriculum called Healthy Child.
Medaille College professors Richard L. Jacob, Director of the Sport Management Program and Chair of the Social Sciences department, and Michelle Cefaratti, School of Education Instructor and Reading Center Director, co-authored the curriculum and joined Health Manager Paul Loman in visiting with children in the Head Start activity rooms and accepting the check that will help fund the staff and instructor training program scheduled to start in February.
