Grain Elevator Lighting Test, POOL Elevator, Buffalo, NY

For those of you who didn’t get a chance to see the lighting of the POOL Elevator last summer, there is a video out that showcases the incredible display of artistic illumination. With film shots from both land and water, it is easy to see how this type of display can capture the imaginations of anyone who pays a visit to the waterfront. Not to mention the international PR potential.
On March 13 the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation (ECHDC) will bring the design contract to the board for approval and the designing and permitting for the illumination at the Connecting Terminal will take about 6-9 months and then the project will go out to bid for the construction.
So far, the plan that is recommended for the waterfront is to illuminate three bridges and two elevators.
Learn more about the project here. And here. Check out the video below:

Yes, the waterfall was my favorite as well. I am not sure they intended it but with the lake reflecting the light, it really pulled it in and made it seem like the waterfall was flowing into the lake.

This was VERY cool, esp. the Niagara Falls and the pouring steel. I can't wait to see this in real life, my kids will flip over this and for boaters, what a way to spend the evening out on the water!!! LOVE!
