The NFTA’s Theater Station will be closed after Midnight on February 17, 2013.
Soon afterward, it will be demolished as part of the Cars Sharing Main Street project that is currently underway between Chippewa and Tupper streets. The Theater Station has served theater patrons, residents, and workers for over 25 years. Not everyone is happy about the ‘progress.’

It will be greatly missed by all, but especially for those who are elderly, disabled, or travel with small children. Members for Regional Transit (CRTC) will be placing memorial flowers at Theater Station (southbound station) at 1:00 PM on Thursday 2/14/13. This symbolic act is being done to mourn the loss of the station as we look ahead to new transit challenges.
