After first opening on Elmwood two years ago, and then seconding that motion by opening a second location in Downtown Buffalo this past December, Vasilis Express is moving forward with a third location. This time it’s the former Grumpy’s location on Hertel Avenue. Let’s hope that the recipe for success continues, as the newest location could be a smashing success if all goes according to plan. After all, this location exudes so much potential (see location) as long as the food and service is good, especially during the warmer months. That’s because the building has got an incredible street presence, and plenty of outdoor seating.
What was once a gas station (see here), has been fortunately converted to an eatery, although the business that first moved in didn’t make a go of it for very long. Regardless, it’s not hard to have high hopes for Vasilis at this location, because we already know that the restaurant’s food offerings are solid, the service is good, and the overall operation is well-run. Seeing that North Buffalo has a lot of families, this former gas station-turned-restaurant locale should be the perfect place to A) Grab some quick take-out food B) Eat outside after a soccer game in Delaware Park. It’s ideally situated close to a lot of different neighborhoods and parks, and has the ability to jumpstart this section of Hertel Avenue. Being a fan of Vasilis, this is great news for North Buffalo.
